On start-up<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I spent my teenage years on the C\u00f4te d’Azur, close to the Paul Ricard circuit created in Le Castellet in 1969. This is not an insignificant factor in my career, as it seems obvious to me today that living near this circuit strengthened my interest in motor sports. What’s more, my parents owned some very fine cars themselves, a Maseratti and a Ferrari. As a child, I was already very sensitive to the technological and design aspects of cars: at the age of 12, I was dreaming of an Alpha Romeo coup\u00e9!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Track entry<\/strong>
\n“I remember my first F1 Grand Prix like it was yesterday. It was 1965, and my grandparents took me to the Clermont-Ferrand circuit to watch the French Grand Prix. At first, I was very impressed by the noise and speed of the cars. It was a first for me, but I could already feel the performance of the drivers and their incredible competitive spirit. It’s an unforgettable memory that has shaped the rest of my life.<\/p>\n

Brakes on<\/strong>
\n“Motor sports have always fascinated me. So much so that I would have loved to have made it my profession. In 1975, I enrolled at the Le Castellet driving school. I had a certain ambition and a fairly good level, but I soon realized that I wasn’t reckless enough, and that this was holding me back in my performances. Everyone can ride fast. But in racing, it’s the last second that’s the hardest to win. Few can do it.<\/p>\n

Adrenalin<\/strong>
\n“The passion for motor sports has never left me. Since the early 1970s, when Grand Prix races began to be broadcast on TV, I’ve attended 95% of them. I’ve also been to Monaco, Monza and Dijon several times to follow around twenty Grand Prix events. I was also lucky enough, in the 1970s, to be a passenger in a rally car, a Lancia Stratos, alongside driver Bernard Darniche. It’s hard to imagine the incredible sensations of driving a few kilometers with him on a special stage. The speed was simply amazing.<\/p>\n

The turning point<\/strong>
\n“In the early 2000s, I had the idea of creating a structure to organize track outings for people who owned their own vehicles. The project didn’t materialize, mainly because there are no circuits near Switzerland. In 2017, I acquired a McLaren, a Ferrari California and an Audi RS6 to offer a new rental service for exceptional cars. That’s how Deluxe Rental Cars started and, one thing leading to another, we invested in the purchase of eight vehicles. Thanks to our network of partners, we can now offer our customers a range of almost 45 luxury cars. From a personal point of view, I’m delighted to be able to drive these incredible cars frequently, and to offer a different experience to our customers by organizing, for example, driving tours combining driving and gastronomy, or even watchmaking.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Piloting<\/strong>
\n“Depending on a car’s technical characteristics, I make a real distinction between driving and piloting. Some of the cars we offer can be driven. In fact, I suggest that inexperienced people who want to use a vehicle in a sporty way take a driving course offered by the Swiss Automobile Club. It’s easy, inexpensive and not only helps you learn to control your car in all traffic conditions, but also gives you a better grasp of your vehicle’s limits.”<\/p>\n
