It’s a central location whose door is open at almost any time of day. A place anchored between past and future, whose glass fa\u00e7ade mirrors the city, the lake and ourselves. Nestled right in the heart of Vevey, just a few meters from the Place du March\u00e9, Le Reflet theater has become one of the Riviera’s key meeting places. <\/p>\n

In this cultural showcase, completely renovated in 1992, the performing arts in all their diversity take center stage. Dance, opera, contemporary music, comedy, song, puppets, theater for young audiences… On the stage of this large theater, which seats almost 720, the performing arts know no boundaries. Around fifty events are offered each season. <\/p>\n

For twenty years, Philippe de Bros left his mark on this stage, turning his programming essentially towards theater and opera. Since her arrival at the helm of the theater in 2012, Brigitte Romanens-Deville has continued in the same vein, sharing with Riviera audiences her taste for theater that is demanding yet open to all, for bold yet accessible writing, for discovery and the experience of sharing. <\/p>\n

Laughter, tears, emotions, always… So many distinct or mixed feelings for which Le Reflet is a welcoming and open incubator.<\/p>\n

How would you describe Le Reflet’s programming? <\/strong><\/p>\n

I took over management of the theater in 2012 from Philippe de Bros, who had been in charge since 1992. So this is my third program this year, and I’d say it’s one of both continuity and change. We offer music, opera, dance and shows for young audiences. And lots of theater, of course! This is quite exceptional for a venue with such a large capacity. <\/p>\n

What makes a theater-oriented program so rare for a venue like this? <\/strong><\/p>\n

I’d say that the cultural offering has expanded enormously in terms of genre diversity. People are increasingly looking for entertainment. At Le Reflet, we believe that there is a certain audience that still wants to go to the theater. We offer classical and contemporary theater that conveys emotions other than humor. It can be a poetic encounter, the discovery of fine writing, the possibility of projecting oneself into life stories… I like to perpetuate this great theatrical tradition for the Riviera’s highly cultured public. <\/p>\n

You offer meetings with the public alongside the shows. Why do you do this? <\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s fundamental… I’m convinced that theater creates links. We offer the chance to meet the artists at the theater bar, to share a convivial moment. This allows a different approach to the shows. For the past three years, we’ve also been offering lunchtime shows. These are short shows that last an hour and take place in the bar.
