Produced in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), the OMEGA Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer lives up to its name.
Housed in a grade 2 titanium case, this unique 45 mm chronograph is capable of displaying solar time on both Earth and Mars, regardless of location. This function is made possible by a new microcontroller, developed and programmed to integrate the equation of time for both planets. This ability to display solar time at any location enables its innovative solar compass to determine magnetic north with exceptional precision, both on Earth and on Mars. The watch also displays the heliographic longitude of Mars, as well as mean solar time at three different locations (at the prime meridian and at two locations defined by the owner), taking into account Martian days, which are 2.7% longer.
Its classic black dial offers a contrasting background to the multiple analog and digital displays, which are clearly distinguished by Earth and Mars symbols to indicate which functions are in use. A bezel in oxalic anodized aluminum and red hematite encircles the dial and alludes to the characteristic soil of the planet Mars. This captivating hue is also present on the seconds hand, which features a gradation of black and red hematite.
The back of the watch reveals the famous OMEGA Speedmaster inscription and seahorse logo stamped in the center of the caseback. The latter is completed by the words SPEEDMASTER X-33 MARSTIMER, ESA TESTED AND QUALIFIED. The watch is powered by the OMEGA caliber 5622.
It is possible to change the grade 2 and 5 titanium bracelet, as the Marstimer also includes a dedicated NATO strap. This is included in the watch's special case, whose inner lining evokes the Red Planet: it is a reproduction of Hebes Chasma, an extraordinary canyon located on Mars.

OMEGA Calibre 5622: Ultra-precise, thermocompensated multifunction quartz movement with special functions developed, tested and qualified by the European Space Agency (ESA). It is designed to drive several analog and digital displays. Analog functions include hours, minutes and seconds. Digital functions include the display of time zones and dates on both Earth and Mars. The Marstimer’s own functions track the course of the Mars rover, while a solar compass indicates north on both the blue and red planets. The watch also features the traditional Speedmaster Skywalker X33 functions, such as MET (Mission Elapsed Time), PET (Phase Elapsed Time), alarms and perpetual calendar.
