Super AVI B04 Chronograph GMT 46 Curtiss Warhawk

From the first daring take-offs to the advent of commercial flights, Breitling's history is closely linked to that of aviation. In the 1930s, Breitling's Huit Aviation department made a name for itself by inventing precision clocks for use in cockpits. Two decades later, the brand introduced another flight instrument, this time a wrist-worn novelty: the Ref. 765 AVI. This pioneering pilot's watch provided the technical backdrop for today's Super AVI, a collection inspired by the adventurous spirit of famous early aircraft.
The Super AVI Curtiss P-40 Warhawk pays tribute to one of these legends. Designed as a fighter, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk first flew in 1938 and quickly established itself as a master of agility. As well as being able to perform amazing turns, giving it a significant advantage during flight, its robust structure also enabled it to withstand harsh weather conditions, and even numerous mid-air collisions. The Warhawk's shark-jaw nose gave it a reputation as the rebel of the skies.
This Super AVI Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is a true pilot's watch, designed to withstand the demands of a vintage cockpit. Its large Arabic numerals provide excellent legibility on the dial and bezel.
The oversized crown and knurled bezel on its robust 46 mm case ensure optimum grip, even with a pilot's gloved hands. Stitched calf leather straps recall the stitching found on classic flight gear, while the optional stainless steel bracelet offers an elegant alternative. Pilots and other travelers will appreciate the ability to read off a second time zone thanks to the red-tipped GMT hand, as well as the 24-hour graduation on the bezel. The Super AVI is powered by a COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Calibre B04 movement, which guarantees a power reserve of around 70 hours.
