Nestled in the little streets of the pretty old town of Vevey on the Vaud Riviera, Lionel Meylan’s two boutiques showcase the biggest names in watchmaking and jewelry.

Since the beginning of December, green has been the color of honor in the magnificent setting at 34, Rue des Deux- Marchés, where lovers of the Beau can now discover the latest models from the Rolex and Tudor collections.

This accolade recognizes Lionel Meylan’s work over almost 25 years. It is also the recognition of a philosophy placed at the service of the customer, focused on the constant quest for excellence and perfection, and driven by a genuine passion for watchmaking. As Julien Meylan, Director of Lionel Meylan Vevey SA, points out, “We are very proud to have been chosen by Rolex. It means we’re heading in the right directionand is an extremely positive sign in the current economic climate. For our entire team, it’s a mark of confidence that encourages us to remain true to what we are: watchmakers before salesmen”.

For Lionel Meylan is no ordinary retailer. A watchmaker by trade, handed down from father to son for 6 generations, he hails from the Vallée de Joux, home of the Swiss watchmaking art.

Settled in Vevey since August 1, 1990, he has passed on his passion for the craft and watch mechanisms to his two sons, Julien and Yannick, who work alongside him after completing their watchmaking studies and manage the two Vevey stores. Yannick is also at the helm of the company’s 3rd address, the highest watchmaking boutique in French-speaking Switzerland, located on Glacier 3000 and inaugurated last May.

Sharing, passing on and respect are their hobbyhorses. First and foremost, sharing their passion and knowledge, which they pass on to their customers every day. Then there’s the transmission of tradition, a thread running through their world, where traditional watchmaking meets modernity.

Finally, respect for the customer and for fine watchmaking, in complete transparency. The entry of the crowned brand into this realm where the customer is king marks an apotheosis for Lionel Meylan at the end of the year.
