What does the ideal jewel look like? Is it set with a senseless emerald, or a fantastic diamond bursting with light? Is it a ring that fits perfectly on your finger or a necklace that hugs the curves of your neck? The ideal jewel, the one you’ll wear with the same pleasure for the rest of your life and that you’ll be able to pass on to the next generation, is a precious and rare object. All the more so when it’s a unique, made-to-measure creation.

For many years, Lionel Meylan has cultivated a genuine expertise in gemology and jewelry, enabling him to help his customers realize their wildest dreams. The project usually starts with a precious stone. Some people come to us with a gem already in their possession and a more or less precise idea in mind,” explains Florence Agier, a gemmologist with a diploma from the HRD Institute in Antwerp. Others need to be accompanied from start to finish, from the choice of stone to the realization of the final jewel. Our job is to make their wishes come true.”

From the choice of a gemstone to the creation of a bespoke piece of jewelry, Lionel Meylan accompanies you with passion and expertise in the realization of your dreams.

The field of possibilities is particularly vast. Lionel Meylan has a stock of magnificent precious stones. Florence Agier continues: “Sometimes a customer comes across a stone that speaks to him, but its size or shape doesn’t always correspond to his dream jewel. In this case, we can have it recut, or perhaps look for another gem in our partners’ stocks.”Once the customer has found the rare pearl, the next step is to decide what form the jewel will take. Ring, necklace, pendant, clip-on or dangling earrings… Nothing is impossible, and throughout the creation process, which lasts an average of two months, the customer has the opportunity to get a very precise idea of his jewel. Not only thanks to 3D drawings, which enable color simulations if the customer is hesitating between platinum, pink gold, white gold or yellow gold, but also, in the case of rings, with the manufacture of wax mountings. And all with precisely tailored quotations to avoid any unpleasant surprises. In the end, all that’s left is the incomparable pleasure of making a dream come true.

WRITING A STORY TOGETHER

Creating a unique or made-to-measure piece of jewelry is an adventure. It’s based on trust and nourished by magnificent emotions. It’s an experience that Julien and Yannick Meylan always enjoy sharing with their customers in their boutiques in Vevey and Lausanne.

Your sources of inspiration?

YANNICK: Emotions rule, either our own at any time of the day, or those of
our customers, who come to us for an experience other than a simple purchase. At that moment, a journey begins together, thebeginning of the writing of a story…

JULIEN: I draw them from nature and harmonious, well-proportioned shapes. Emotions also often guidea project. For example, when my first daughter was born, the first little tear that rolled down her cheek was the inspiration for the “Anna” ring. Since then, her mother has never taken her teardrop out of her hands.

The technical constraints imposed on you?

JULIEN: It’s always important to ensure that a creation is comfortable and stands the test of time. We like our creations to last, which is also a guarantee of quality. We have to find the right balance between the design and the conception of the jewel, which, in the case of a made-to-measure creation, must adapt to the customer’s desires and needs over the long term.

YANNICK: Materials, fit, comfort, safety and elegance must all come together in a veritable alchemy. We’re here to adjust all these elements to our customers’ dreams, and we make sure that our creations are made to last.

Are all bold moves allowed?

JULIEN: Yes, of course, there’s no accounting for taste, and the important thing is that the buyer likes the jewel.

YANNICK: When the limits of imagination meet those of pleasure, yes, all of them!

The style of Lionel Meylan creations?

JULIEN: The style is classic and timeless, but our jewelry is sometimes singular, depending on the nature of the stone, for example.

YANNICK: Our jewelry creations are classic, timeless and a reflection of “desire”.
