Lavaux Vinorama

Like a well-hidden treasure, the Centre de découverte du vignoble et des vins de Lavaux (Lavaux vineyard and wine discovery center) is discreetly tucked away behind thick concrete walls sculpted in a mimetic architectural style. Since its opening in 2010, it has become an essential stop-off point for visitors to this terraced vineyard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Whether you’re starting or finishing a walk through the vineyards, this is the place to stop. For those wishing to learn more, an eight-language film projected onto glass panels describes wine production, following the winemaker’s journey step by step, from the end of the harvest to the beginning of the next.

The visit can be followed – strongly recommended – by a commented tasting session. Some 300 wines produced by 150 winemakers are represented on the menu, which founder and director Sandra Joye strives to update weekly. A fun and educational way to appreciate the richness of the “Three Sun Vineyard”.
