Le Grand Hôtel du Lac – Alchemy of the art of living
Opened in 1868 and entirely renovated between 2004 and 2006 under the leadership of interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon – also a key player in the renovations of the Georges V in Paris and the Hôtel des Bergues in Geneva – this 50-room Vevey establishment boasts an art of living tinged with elegance and discretion.
Shades of color and subdued lighting contribute to the intimate, timeless atmosphere. Just a stone’s throw from the lake, bordered by a pretty garden with swimming pool and inviting terrace, the Grand Hôtel du Lac also houses a spa and two restaurants.
We are attached to a certain art of living, elegant and relaxed. The hotel doesn’t have the classic feel of a château; it’s more like a big house where life is good. Luc Califano, House Master
La Véranda offers chic brasserie cuisine every day of the week. Under the baton of Chef Thomas Neeser, Les Saisons restaurant, which boasts a Michelin star and a 16/20 Gault et Millau rating, is open to gourmets on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
In keeping with the spirit of conviviality instilled by the hotel’s team, the Chef opens his kitchen by appointment, offering an innovative “cook together” concept. All that’s left to do is enjoy the delicious dishes in a refined setting, with the impression of a timeless moment.
