Vevey, July1, 2021 – After taking over the Breitling boutique in 2020, Lionel Meylan continues to expand his horizons in Lausanne. On July1, 2021, the family firm took over the reins of the Guillard boutique, founded in 1858. Ideally located on Place de la Palud, in the heart of the city, this watch and jewelry House stands out for its passion for fine mechanical watchmaking, its sense of service and its proximity to customers. These are all values shared by Lionel Meylan, who is now taking up the torch with the same dynamism and professionalism that have been the hallmarks of its stores for over 30 years.

“With a light heart, I entrust the future of the company to the Meylan family of Vevey, to father Lionel, a watchmaker like myself, and to his two sons Julien and Yannick, who will maintain the spirit and level while breathing new life into the venerable “Maison”. I’m delighted to hand over the keys to competent, experienced colleagues who will continue to listen to our customers and friends, while developing the company to serve you even better, says Bernard Metzger, owner and director of Guillard.

“Since my sons, Julien and Yannick, took over the management of the company, we’ve been looking to expand. We are fortunate to have a formidable, positive and extremely competent team who support them in all their projects. Our wish in taking over the Guillard boutique is to continue doing what we’ve always done since our beginnings, over 30 years ago: sharing our know-how and our love of the trade with our customers and friends”, explains Lionel Meylan, the company’s founder.

In a few months’ time, work will begin on transforming the Guillard boutique. Initially, Lionel Meylan will implement the company’s own philosophy and offer the full range of services in the new boutique: cutting-edge watchmaking expertise, proven skills in gemology and jewellery design, and an exacting selection of vintage watches and jewelry. Not to mention the Meylan family’s utmost commitment to passionately passing on their know-how.
