STREET PERFORMERS FESTIVAL
Laughter, tears (crocodile tears), clowns (white or red-nosed), acrobats, mimes, jugglers, musicians… And lots of emotion! From August 19 to 21, the 24th edition of the Vevey Street Artists Festival gets underway. Rendezvous at Place Scanavin and all over the Old Town.

AN EVENING AT THE OBSERVATORY
Fancy taking down the moon and getting up close to the stars? The Vevey Observatory organizes public evenings every Tuesday to observe current astronomical phenomena through telescopes installed under the dome. Craters on the Moon, planets, stars, nebulae and galaxies are revealed at their best. But only under clear skies!
34th CHAPLIN RACE
Get your sneakers on and take part in the 34th edition of the Chaplin Run, to be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Corsier-sur-Vevey. Sponsored by Géraldine Chaplin, this not-to-be-missed race has two special features: it’s the only free race in Switzerland, and it’s also the only one to pass through the grounds of the Manoir de Ban, Charlie Chaplin’s final residence. Some 800 runners from all over the world are expected this year.

FUNNY KEYS AND LOCK GAMES
Whether they’re T-shaped, hook-shaped or claw-shaped, come and discover and test these funny Celtic, Roman and early medieval keys until January 15, 2017 at the Musée historique de Vevey. This exhibition highlights some fifty pieces donated to the museum by collector Jean-Josef Brunner. A fine set of chamberlain’s keys completes the presentation.

FESTIVAL IMAGES
On building facades, in the water, in the street, horizontally or vertically, the art of photography is everywhere in the streets of Vevey from September 10 to October 2 for the Festival Images. Like a life-size museum, the city is transformed and surprised. On every street corner…

VEVEY FOLK MARKETS
The Vevey Folk Markets are back with a bang. Every Saturday morning from July 9
to August 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Place du Marché and Place de l’Hôtel de Ville are taken over by local artisans. Around the Grenette, to the sound of the brass band and the alphorn, a different winemaker at each market offers tastings. The idea: buy a glass for CHF 10 and drink as much as you like. As a prelude, two pre-Marchés folkloriques are organized on June 11 and 18.

SEPTEMBER MUSIC
For 70 years now, the Montreux-Vevey Classical Music Festival has been enchanting music-lovers with the perfect way to end the summer. From August 26 to September 4, this major music festival will once again welcome renowned symphony orchestras and soloists. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
from London will inaugurate this anniversary edition, followed by Charles Dutoit, Martha Argerich and the Youth Orchestra of Bahia.
A great time ahead…
